My Students

I am the teacher of 24 high achieving students who are eager to learn every single day. Their smiling faces greet me at the door every morning and they motivate me to be the best teacher that I can be.

We are an incredibly diverse group of students who do not let our differences ever hold us back.

We are located in a low income school so resources can be scarce at certain points and times. Our goal is to learn something new every single day.

They come to school excited about the day and ready to work hard and learn a lot. They look books and the classroom library! We want it to be a high learning environment and want these students to have every opportunity available .

My Project

My students need a personal dictionary so they can learn how to use a dictionary properly. They need to learn the different parts of a dictionary and how to look up a word they don't know how to spell or the definition of a word.

The students will use these dictionaries independently, as well as, in group activities.

Dictionary skills is one of the required skills for our first graders.

These dictionaries will be used daily for research projects, and for daily assignments. As they get older, it will help them become comfortable using a dictionary, if they are properly taught at a younger age.
