This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am on a mission to teach these young brilliant students to be at or above level for first grade in all subject areas. In order to implement my mission, I need to have many activities printed out in color for the students to use. Being able to print out various center activities that students can write on and use with magnetic letters, will keep them engaged and learning.

Also, with the pouches, I can laminate the printouts so that the students can reuse the activities over and over.

As an ESL kindergarten teacher, I am working with twenty-four warm and amazing students. Most of my students are English language learners. At this school, more than 80% of students are Hispanic, Black, and more than 80% come from low-income households.

Ninety percent of them are part of the free lunch program.

They come from a low socioeconomic environment. These intelligent and curious students started school five months ago. Due to the pandemic, many of them did not attend preschool or did so virtually.

My students come to school excited and ready to learn new things. Many of them are visual learners. They are eager to learn and explore the world around them. I noticed that every time I bring colored worksheets they are enthusiastic and ready to start their tasks.

Having center activities or concept worksheets in color will help them to focus and engage more during these center activities. My amazing students will benefit and learn through hands-on experiences.
