My Students

My students are unique in their own way. Each of them bring their own talent and strength to the classroom environment. Our school is predominantly African Americans students with a few Hispanic and Asian populations and 1% white. Most of these students are low leveled students.

Their ability to read and write are extremely poor and weak.

Regardless of their insufficiency they have a spirit to learn which makes my job easier. With my guidance and high expectation, I know they can learn.

My Project

Our students do not often get the opportunity to travel and visit monuments that are depicted in their textbooks. Hence, donations given towards their travel expenses will make their dream a reality and they will be able to gain an insight and lifetime experience with different cultures in Europe. They will learn how others communicate and share some value like theirs but in a different way. They will grow to love and appreciate others who are different from them and treat each person with respect.

Additionally while in France they will become more confident in learning and using the language with native and non-native speakers which will improve their performance in French and State Regents Exam.

While in France and Belgium, the student will also get the opportunity to view some of the monuments that are depicted in their textbook and make learning more accessible to them.
