Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The winter months after the holiday break can be the most challenging time for a student to come back and re-acclimate back to school in the learning experience it provides. Students tend to always be in a snack mood. I maintain a bottle water supply in my classroom to keep my students who are thirsty from leaving the classroom for the water fountain, however, snacks are very difficult for most teachers to maintain a supply of. Often time snacks are provided for special occasions and holidays as a treat. It's quite difficult for an educator to keep up with a student who is hungry. Behaviors tend to be a problem.

Your donation for the snack portion of this project will help maintain focus on classroom material.

Our classroom gets rather cold during the winter months. We are fortunate to have heat however, some students are skinnier than others and the gloves, and the hand warmers that are part of this project would go a long way for their comfort.

Our school district is currently banning all Bluetooth headsets and cellular devices such as cell phones, iPads, and personal notebooks. A lot of of our students do not have access to wired headphones and can't make a purchase for an additional pair of earbuds. The earbuds that have been selected for this project are for students who need the comfort of a soothing song from their school issued Chromebook. We do allow the students to listen to music from a school issued device.

As always, I would like to thank anyone in advance who has taken the time to humor my project. The items selected in this project are specifically for my students' warmth, care and hunger.
