Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We use Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) in our classroom every day. The students have an opportunity to earn points by making awesome choices. We have a treasure box in our classroom and students can "purchase" an item from it with their points, if they choose to. I also use our treasure box for mystery motivators.

The items in this project will help stock our treasure box with exciting items for the students to earn/buy.

My students look for ways to earn PBIS points and are highly motivated with the weekly "shopping" they are able to do. We love PBIS!

We are also asking for some additional classroom supplies, including a pencil sharpener and construction paper. Our current pencil sharpener is on its last leg. We need one that will sharpen efficiently so that we don't waste time and can quickly get back to our learning! We also do many literacy projects after reading our story of the week that include writing and art pieces. We might recreate a character, make a flipchart, or simply need a background to help better display our writing outside of the classroom. We use various colored paper to create these engaging activities.
