My Students

I teach a diverse range of students in a less traditional setting than what one imagines for public schools in Texas. My students are online learners who are looking for an educational structure that allows them to work at their own pace, while still receiving the support they need to meet their diverse needs.

My Project

Young kids gleam at the chance to get rewards to celebrate their achievements and cooperation. They get stickers for sitting in their seat, trinkets for good grades, pencils, and goodies on their birthday. By the time our students get to high school, they no longer get open displays of celebration or tangible rewards.

Just like the younger versions of themselves, our teens like being celebrated and rewarded for their achievements and special moments; I will use the materials in this project to create a "treasure chest" of sorts for my high school students to pick a prize when they have big accomplishments, show growth, or just have a celebratory moment.

They will be given the option to choose from one of the games or a gift card. I will use the postage and envelopes to mail prizes home. I will also write a handwritten, personalized note on the greeting cards to add a special touch.
