My Project

My students are an amazing, diverse group of kids who have a passion to learn and be leaders one day. As I look at each of them I can see the potential that each one of them has. I feel very lucky that I get to teach them the love of reading, math, science, and how to work together. Most of my students come from lower income households but that doesn't stop them from trying their hardest to be the best they can, everyday.

My students are passionate about learning, love to try new things and know that we are family in my classroom.

I want them to feel safe and comfortable in my class and know that I am their biggest fan because they are truly phenomenal.

Positive reinforcement is a key element in my class. Positive reinforcement is always more effective at changing behaviors than punishment. In my treasure box, I want to include fun things that the students can take home as rewards for their good behavior.

Items in the treasure box need to be rewarding and motivating to my students.

Students work harder, focus more, and are more inclined to follow the class and school rules in order to earn their chance to get into the classroom treasure box.

My students are working hard everyday and earning tickets to spend at our classroom store. My students receive tickets everyday for good behavior, completing their academic tasks, collaborating with their peers, and setting a good example for others. My students have been saving up for their chance to spend their hard earned tickets at our class store. By replenishing the items like stickers and pencils in my treasure box, I can give my students these items to enjoy.
