My Students

I have grades K-5 as a school librarian. I am continually working on increasing the love of learning in all of my students: anything from how to find books within the library system to lessons that go with popular read-aloud books while in the library.

They only get a limited time in the library and I want to make it as enjoyable of an experience as possible.

I encourage all of my students to find books that they will enjoy and help encourage them to read.

My Project

These books would provide a new series of easier chapter books as some of our students transition into chapter books. These also are great for students who love history. These are slightly harder books to find and would be a way of having the whole series and multiple copies of each book.

These will help our students be able to travel into adventure as they read.

They vary from traveling to medieval times to the future. These are a great way to help our students escape into a book and learn a little history along the way.

The other items are for the library space to help make it more welcoming and user friendly, with the Hungry Caterpillar paper lanterns and appealing bulletin boards and signs, once we are able to have students come back into the library space. Also to help make it easier to get books to classrooms for students to be able to still check out books by having a sturdier cart and baskets to take books back and forth from the library to the classrooms.
