This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are AMAZING! I am a SPED Social Worker that works with elementary students who have undergone significant trauma. Sometimes they engage in physical aggression because they do not know how to cope with their big emotions.

I am there to teach them how to cope with negative emotions and provide replacements strategies to promote their social emotional health!

I want to give these children a beautiful, welcoming classroom where they can feel safe in a respected environment! My students enjoy my benefit from these lessons by learning specific strategies on how to forgive, how to be motivated to do well, art therapy projects, and frustration management.
