This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students books about recycling, a cardboard cutting machine, electric scissors, recycling toy cars, and loose materials to spark creativity and sustainability in our classroom!

Our preschoolers are curious, imaginative, and ready to make a difference!

This project will kick off an exciting hands-on study about recycling and reusing materials to care for our planet. Through storytelling, exploration, and creative construction, students will learn how everyday "trash" can become something new and beautiful.

With books about recycling, we’ll introduce important environmental concepts in a fun, age-appropriate way. A kid-safe cardboard cutting machine will empower students to safely cut and build with recycled boxes, while electric scissors will help me prep materials like fabric, wooden sticks, and other upcycled items for their tiny hands to explore.

We’ll also use recycling toy cars to role-play collecting and sorting materials, and loose parts like gems, plastic caps, and buttons to inspire open-ended art and engineering projects. These materials will not only fuel creativity but also teach resourcefulness and responsibility.

Let’s give our students the tools to become eco-friendly innovators—because even the smallest hands can make a big impact!
