My Project

In our classroom, our next unit of study we will complete is centered around community. We will be talking about our unique communities that we are a part of, and the communities we have in common. For us to study our communities, we need a way of traveling between them.

This play set will allow my students to play out their stories of traveling, including immigration, and stories of the places which they come from, both near and far.

These transportation materials will be used for children to tell the story of their communities, and the various ways that they came to be in our school community now. We will share stories of the bravery of their families for leaving their homes to come to a new place. We will write stories of our own travels and how we all came to be together, at school.
