My Project

This year 60% of my learners are ELL students. Several of them are monolingual and will need severe accommodations during biology class. I want to ensure that I am doing everything to assess them on their content knowledge and not their language knowledge.

My ELLs are the most motivated students in my biology class.

Too often our bilingual students are used to assisting our newcomers, and it is not fair to them. A Spanish-English dictionary and the translation pen will help my monolinguals be successful and not feel so lost in class. I want them to know that everything is being done to ensure their success.
