Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Transitional Kindergartners have been highly affected by this pandemic. The day they left school was the day their learning became drastically different. They are now learning from home and communicating with me through text messages, phone calls and teacher/classroom apps. Their resources are close to none! Some have tablets while others have broken pencils/crayons and loose leaf paper. They study on their beds, the floor, or on the carpet as some don't have tables and chairs.

My Project

This learning at home care package will help my TK students a great deal! They are in a situation where they don't understand what is happening and why they can't go to school. It is very difficult for them to get work done when some don't have the basics to get learning done.

Therefore, they will use the basic crayons, markers, and pencils to practice their basic coloring and writing skills.

The paint sets and watercolor books will help them develop their creative and artistic side.

The drawstring bag and pencil boxes will help them continue to practice their organization skills which is a big part of TK. Lastly, the snacks will bring them some comfort and memories of how we used to snack together everyday as a class.
