Our school is one of the first in our area that includes students of all abilities in a single classroom.

Students who develop typically, students with special needs and students who are gifted, learn side-by-side, with each other and from each other. All of our students are resilient individuals that, despite their differences, make our school a welcoming community.

My Project

Using the iPad minis in the transitional kindergarten classroom will allow students to thrive in areas unexplored. Students will be able to connect to the classroom curriculum in multiple, engaging ways. Being a transitional kindergartner in a kindergarten classroom can be daunting. Having the iPad minis at our centers will allow teachers to differentiate curriculum for the kindergartners and transitional kindergartners in a seamless, fun, and meaningful way. These technological resources will give the transitional kindergartners multiple ways to view content areas to best prepare them for their kindergarten. Transitional kindergartners will be having fun and learning without even knowing the difference!

These iPad minis will create a transitional kindergarten learning environment that is rich with content, cross-curricular connections, and fun!

Students will use the iPads to share reading games, math games, science explorations, typing, and most important for transitional kindergarten, turn-taking; all in the name of learning fun.
