Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine walking into a classroom that transforms into a spy room for reading, a construction zone for measurement, a pizza restaurant for regrouping, and an operating room for text features. These exciting environments are designed to make learning unforgettable and to ignite the imaginations of my second graders.
With your support, we can bring these dynamic transformations to life, turning our classroom into an immersive learning experience.
In the spy room, students will use spy glasses and spy pens to enhance their reading skills through secret missions and decoding activities. The construction zone will feature construction vests and a construction sign, allowing students to explore measurement concepts by building and measuring structures, fostering hands-on learning. The pizza restaurant will come to life with chef hats and pizza boxes, making math fun and tangible as students practice regrouping while taking orders and making pizzas. Lastly, the operating room will include hair nets and stethoscopes, turning the study of text features into a high-stakes op eration where students will dissect texts to find and understand key elements. These transformations will not only enhance academic skills but also build teamwork, creativity, and a love for learning.
