My Students
My students are creative and thouhgtful. They love engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to take chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
They dream of learning English, helping their families, and reaching their full potential.
Many of my students and their families are learning to adapt to learning the English language and culture. With your help, we can acquire the tools and skills to reach those goals.
My Project
How can we empower students to take ownership of their learning? One way is to provide opportunities for students to work collaboratively in an engaging, non-traditional way. I am asking for one kidney shaped table in my classroom for my students to use during small group instruction. This table will provide a fun and interactive way for students to express and enhance their ideas. Students will become excited to show their work while becoming more involved in group work as they collaborate in small groups or with partners.
This will allow myself an opportunity to use key strategies to help my students understand concepts in literature and social sciences through hands-on, visual learning experiences.
Students are asked to visualize the setting and key events in the story or explain their solution to a social justice concern. What better way to do this than have table dedicated to small group targeted instruction
