Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classes are a composed of eighth grade students. They are the top students at the school. In fact, they are enrolled in high school courses. In addition, they are enrolled in the most rigorous courses offered at our school. Consequently, they make the highest scores on the State's Standardized Tests. This year is the first year our school is offering Industry Certification. At the conclusion of the school year, students will have attained a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification. The certification is a globally-recognized certification, that will give them an edge in the work industry.

Our school has approximately 87% of Hispanic students.

Despite the language barriers, my students are self-motivated learners. They work diligently to achieve the highest level of success, in all of their classes. The students and parents are extremely excited about the industry certification and the benefits it offers.

My Project

My students will be working in groups to complete online training via GMetrix and Certiport. The electronic devices will allow students to be mobile and work together, as they embark on a valuable certification. The training will provide students will real-life work ethics and up-to-date technology skills, that will make them marketable in the work industry.

These students are also part of our school's STEM program.

Due to limited available labs in our school, we don't have a physical lab assigned to us. The selected students will enter High School next year, with a certification that is highly recognizable in today's society.
