This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My girls' soccer team is a mixed group of 9th 10th graders who enjoy sports. Being a Title 1 school allows me to train many students who have never played club soccer and some who have never played organized sports. They deserve the absolute best training and equipment available! Efficiency is imperative to maximize our efforts.

I constantly remind my team, the only limits we have, are the ones we give ourselves!

I truly believe those words and try hard daily to prove it to them with my work ethic and passionate drive. My teenage students daily deal with the challenges of acceptance, self-esteem, and their ever-changing emotions, not to mention the responsibilities of being young adults. They are faced with the challenge of defying the odds and in some cases even making history in their families. Since we are a public charter school, intentionally serving our direct community, some of my student-athletes will be the first to receive a high school diploma and eventually earn a degree.

My Project

Proper preparation is the foundation of any successful endeavor. This year will be the inaugural soccer season for our high school girls. We need the equipment in this project to start building a successful program. Many local high schools have longstanding winning traditions and legacies that precede them; that is where we eventually want to be. First seasons are all about building. We will build team skills and individual skills that require the soccer balls and training equipment listed.

The privilege of teaching and coaching is one of life's greatest joys, and it's even better knowing that many of my student-athletes are participating in their first-ever organized sports.

We exist to reach the underserved parts of our community. Your donation will bring high-quality training equipment and provide the tools for a variety of skill-development opportunities.

The Select brand is known for its durability over long periods at the collegiate level. The agility poles, ladder, cones, parachute, and hurdles will help develop speed, strength, conditioning, and agility with and without the ball. The portable goals and soccer tennis net will help promote mini-games that focus on ball control and overall confidence with and dominance of the ball.
