My Students

My student-athletes are from a very rural community and the school can be considered a "frontier school." Most of them have lived here their whole life and many believe that because our school is so small, we have very little funding and many of the students accept that they will never have the best equipment. Currently, they have very little conditioning equipment. The little equipment they do have is usually run-down because it's 30+ years old. They love being active in sports and outdoor activities and many are hard-working farm kids. A few years back they had a great basketball program, but in recent years they have struggled.

I know with the right equipment, we can improve their training and help them have a better chance of being successful and learning to maintain a fit lifestyle.

I want them to realize that they are worth so much more and that there are people who want them to succeed and to achieve great things. I want to be able to provide them with memorable learning experiences that will motivate them for life.

My Project

The equipment for our track and field team is lacking, to say the least. We have very little equipment and an even smaller budget. Needless to say, unless you run we likely don't have the right equipment or it is so run down (from age) that it can't be used in competition.

The donations to this project will give our team the necessary throwing equipment to help our kids achieve their goals in the shot put and discus events.

Currently, we do not have a single girl's discus and our boy's discus is just run-down. We have one girl's shot put and our boy's brass shot put just didn't hold up very well and is now ineligible for competition. These stainless steel shot puts, competition discuses, and carrying bags will provide much-needed equipment to help our track and field team.
