Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My name is Julia Dennis, and I am a dedicated staff member at ASA, working at the only performing arts middle charter school in Atlanta, GA. Our academy is committed to providing quality education and extracurricular opportunities to all our students, many of whom come from low-income families.

At ASA, we recognize the profound impact that physical activities and sports can have on a child’s development.

Our track and field program is particularly popular, offering students a chance to stay active, build teamwork skills, and foster a sense of community. Unfortunately, many of our families face financial constraints that make it difficult for them to afford the necessary equipment and participation fees.

We are reaching out to generous donors like you to help us ensure that every child who wishes to participate in track and field can do so, regardless of their financial situation. Your support could make a significant difference in the lives of our students by providing:

-Proper athletic footwear and apparel

-Track and field equipment (such as batons, hurdles, and starting blocks)

-Transportation costs for away meets

-Registration fees for competitions

-Nutritional support and hydration for the athletes

By contributing to our program, you would be directly impacting the lives of our students, helping them to experience the many benefits of participating in track and field. We believe that with your support, we can continue to inspire and uplift our students, enabling them to reach their full potential both on and off the track.
