We are from a small east Texas town. The school I teach at is a Title I school where most of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. More often than not, my students do not have access to technology at home. The kids love getting to learn in new and different ways! I want to provide an engaging form of learning that will help the students stay motivated! I would love it if you could help me reach my goal of giving my students the best learning environment that is possible.
My Project
I want to allow my students to learn with the Touchphonics program. This is a kinesthetic program that gives students hands-on experience. This will help all of my students including students with dyslexia and special needs. By giving struggling students a chance to learn through tactile manipulation the phonics skills will be more memorable. I have wanted to get this program for my students since the first time I read about it. Our school has been improving our phonics instruction to help reach all of our students and I think this program is what we need to reach everyone!
