I teach at a Title I school in a low income area in Mississippi. In my classroom, I provide math and reading interventions to students with deficits. Everyday about 50 students come in and out of my classroom for reteaching and remediation. We work hard together to help bridge the gap between performance level and grade level. Some of my students have motor skill limitations that make it difficult to use a mouse and keyboard. My goal is to make their learning less challenging.
My Project
These computers will enhance the lives of my students with OT issues. They will be able to use the touchscreen in place of a mouse while working on their computer interventions.
My students will use these computers daily to improve their academic performance level.
This technology will give my students access to computer based interventions, such as I-Ready, STAR, and Lexia. These computers will decrease their frustrations with technology because it will eliminate the use of a mouse, which is difficult for students who have motor skill deficits. Thank you for your consideration in funding my technology project. This technology will be greatly appreciated by my students!
