My Students

Life is so much easier when you have the right tools and support. My students are growing up in an ever-increasing technological world, and the best way to prepare them for the future is to give them the tools that they need now!

My students are a group of vibrant and eager third-graders in New York City.

They are hard-working and love to learn! They crave to get their hands on technology as much as possible. These children went through a terrible ordeal as a result of Hurricane Sandy, both in school and at home. This new year is an opportunity to get them on the right track with their education and overall well-being, so that they can finally put the affects of the hurricane behind them.

My Project

I have requested an Apple iPad mini and case to promote technology in the classroom and at home. Putting an iPad mini into these little hands will open up countless doors for these kids. With the iPad mini, they will be able to read eBooks, and gain access to the brand new reading and math curricula they must learn in order to meet the Common Core state standards. An iPad will increase engagement and provide great motivation for the kids that are struggling learners, as well as those that need a little extra challenge.

We are desperately trying to start this year fresh and put the affects and nightmares of Hurricane Sandy behind us.

We need to catch these kids up on what was lost last year and push forward. Increasing the technology in our classroom with an iPad mini will do just that!
