This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With your support, we are requesting donations of cornhole boards to enhance our physical education program and provide our students with a fun, engaging, and skill-building activity.

Our students are truly a unique group.

They come from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own energy and enthusiasm to class. What makes them special is their eagerness to learn and grow, not only in physical skills but also in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Each day, I am inspired by their dedication to trying new things and supporting one another. They have a remarkable ability to collaborate, encourage each other, and celebrate their successes together.

The cornhole boards will make a significant difference in their learning by introducing a game that is both accessible and engaging for all ability levels. Cornhole promotes hand-eye coordination, concentration, and physical activity, while also offering valuable opportunities to practice teamwork and sportsmanship. This resource will provide our students with an alternative way to learn these essential life skills, fostering both individual growth and group cooperation.

My goal for this project is twofold: first, to offer our students an inclusive, enjoyable activity that allows them to develop physical skills in a low-pressure setting; and second, to create an environment where they can practice and strengthen their social and emotional skills, particularly those related to communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration. The addition of cornhole boards will help us accomplish these goals while also providing a much-needed resource for our physical education program.
