Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a vibrant group of scholars. They are a group of hard-working, talented, and energetic students that love to come to school. They are constantly asking questions, exploring, and making sense of the world around them, all while learning a second language.

My students love to sing, dance, laugh and express their learning.

Something that we pride ourselves on at our school is the joyful learning happening in all classrooms! What we may lack in resources we try our best to give our students other opportunities to learn and grow.

My Project

Representation matters and especially for those of underrepresented groups. What I love especially about these series of graphic novels is that it depicts children that reflect our school community. One of the books takes place right in our own city, New York City.

Graphic Novels are a fun way for students to engage with reading interesting stories.

These tend to be a popular section in our classroom library. Students will be so eager to read these selections and make personal connections to the storyline and characters. I look forward to seeing their reactions!
