Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school with 90% of our students receiving free or reduced-price meals. We have many English language learner (ELL) students at our school. Over half of my students are ELL students. Our students come from working families and families who speak other languages at home. Some parents are not able to communicate in English with us, but we do have Spanish-speaking translators on site.

Our staff is very caring and committed to providing a nurturing, fun, and engaging classroom for all our students.

We want students to know that we will be there for them and give them as much as we possibly can. One great thing about our school is that we have one-to-one devices with iPads or Chromebook computers. For many students, this is the first time they have been able to use and engage with today's technology.

My Project

I love books and my students love books! Having these Toon Books will make reading fun and engaging for my students. We are always looking to new to books to our class library and these books would be great fit. We are a class of readers and enjoy having new books to read.

Finding the right fit books is what we do in my class!

Having more books and stories to choose fun will help those students more reluctant to become more of a reader. Toon Books are great as they make meaning out of reading with the aid of visuals in these books. Having these books will make difference in my students lives as I know we can create life long readers!
