My Students

My students love to learn through hands-on, real world experiences. Many of my students come from low income families and do not have the same opportunities as others. A majority of them qualify for free and reduced lunch, have parents in prison, and some are even homeless. I try to do hands-on activities daily. There isn't anything better than to hear one of them shout out, "I did it!" What happens in their homes is out of my control. What I can control is giving them a comfortable, loving, classroom set up for hands-on learning. With this, they will have a chance to explore and succeed and have many more "I did it's!" in life.

My Project

We use our interactive science notebook daily. They are a wonderful tool not just for the information they contain but because they allow students to be creative and help with organization. In order to do so, my students need glue, crayons, markers, and notebooks. School supplies can be expensive. Especially if you have more than one child. Some of my students are able to bring in their own supplies but 90% do not have the money to purchase or replenish them.

I want my students to have the tools they need to succeed!

Having these supplies will do just that!
