My Students

A day in a kindergarten classroom is filled with the buzzing of learning with enthusiasm. Some of my biggest challenges are tailoring instruction for individual needs and getting the kids to work independently.

The students in my room come to me happy and excited to be at school.

They love to learn and want to please. Many of the students come from broken homes where money is tight. Most of them have very little skills when they enter school. Our school is a cozy little home away from home. We have a very little budget to afford many extras that would help give our kids the extra edge they need to be successful. We have a wonderful staff and administration that strives to make our kids college ready with 21 century skills to succeed in the world.

My Project

The Spacemen will help my students work on leaving an appropriate amount of space between the words in their sentences when writing.

The phonics phones will help students hear themselves read, self correct mistakes they are making and make them better readers.

Plus, the kids will love hearing themselves read and begin to understand how fluent reading should sound.

The phonics activities will help small groups of students boost basic skills to increase their fluency and become better readers. They will be great to use for my TA to work with our struggling students to help them be successful in class.
