My Students

Our school proudly represents an international community that speaks many languages and represents many cultures. Our multicultural mosaic gives our school a global perspective with high expectations for academic success. The students are highly motivated; the families of these children expect a guarantee of success. To assure the children's academic success, it is vital to provide only the best resources possible.

Students can only achieve if they have the necessary tools to do so.

The families of our children have sacrificed much to be in this country, and the children hope to fulfill their families' dreams for success. For that reason, we try to bring the best resources to our students, in the hopes of realizing high expectations that will lay a foundation for future opportunities.

My Project

The use of dry erase pockets in my classroom will be used to house charted directions and rubrics for students to engage with. My students will be creating beautiful projects this year, one of which will be quilling.

Paper quilling is a project that requires tremendous focus and concentration.

My students will be able to increase their fine motor skills through this project, as quilling is a very detail oriented art. Coping skills and learning how to recover quickly from errors is another benefit they will receive as a result of creating art.

Completed art works often get printed on paper and displayed in the school for all to see. In this way students can take their original art work home. Ink and paper costs are expensive, especially when you are teaching 800 students. The yaker tracker is a device I plan to implement in the classroom in order to maintain a more peaceful and orderly environment.
