My Students

My second-grade students are an enthusiastic bunch of learners who love school! They show curiosity and passion for learning new things. Second graders enjoy exploring new topics every day!

When the coronavirus pandemic closed our school site, my students demonstrated grit and continued their learning journey at home.

My second-grade students continued to persevere with their learning. They actively participated in Zoom meetings, completed learning tasks independently, and adapted to an entirely new way of learning.

Despite our physical school site closing, learning continued.

My Project

Without the proper tools, supplies, and materials, distance learning can be quite difficult. In the spring, I learned just how many tools, supplies, and manipulatives that I use to teach on a daily basis.

This project will help me take my distance learning lessons to the next level.

A document camera will allow me to model math problems, reading strategies and skills, and so much more! I will be in front of the camera a lot in the fall, conducting live Zoom meetings and filming prerecorded lessons for my students to watch asynchronously. Therefore, proper lighting will be important for my students to see me, the work I'm modeling, and the instructional tools I will be utilizing.
