Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach ETK (Early Transitional Kindergarten: Pre-K). My students are 4 years old and for many of them this is their first school experience. I believe that my job is to lay the foundation for learning and make them fall in love with school. I try to create interesting and engaging activities that provide ample opportunities for my students to learn while having fun.
My class is a wonderful mix of students.
Some students speak English in their homes, while others speak only Spanish. Some students are begin to read while others are learning to recognize their names. Despite their differences, my students become a family. They learn to communicate and work together. They learn to become readers and writers, and they learn what it means to become a part of a classroom community.
My Project
We recently found out that the 2020-21 school year will begin with remote learning. I want to make sure that all of my students have the basic necessary supplies to start a successful year while learning from home.
The backpacks will be a great place for students to store their supplies and keep them organized, while learning from home.
Last year my students enjoyed writing on dry erase boards, coloring and painting with the supplies that were sent home. Please help me do the same for my incoming class. Thank You!
