My Students

We are an amazing school with a special vibe. Although we have seen several changes in administration, the core of our school stays super strong. Our students feel safe here amidst the chaos of the street. Located in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in New York, it is a place you can't leave. At a pre-k to 8 school you have the unique ability to watch small cohorts of scholars mature into awesome young adults. That is our school!

My Project

My students would benefit from access to basic school supplies to enhance their critical thinking. It's great to have pencils, but we have already gone through 3 sharpeners this year. Also, the use of dry erase markers for their individual boards will allow opportunity for more creativity. For most of my students writing on the class white board is a special experience, but it is not realistic for every student to come up to the board everyday. My students will gain a sense of freedom knowing that the can use various types of communication in our math class. They will even express themselves in their color choices.
