My Students

I just started working in the school district of Philadelphia and have heard a bunch of different stories regarding the students at our school. I am one of those people who looks for positivity in all situations -- I have no tolerance when people start talking negatively about students they don't even know.

I think my students are amazing young adults.

They come from so many different backgrounds and come from situations that most people cannot imagine. My students need to know that they are cared for and that I will be with them every step of the way. Unfortunately, they do not have the supplies that they need in order to be successful -- due to no fault of their own. I need to make sure that I am able to provide the tools for success, both physically and academically.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my student's lives because they will brighten up our classroom. The dry and erase boards will help upgrade the dirty blackboards that I currently have. It will also make it easier for students to utilize that space to learn.

Students always need pencils; it's not the most important thing in their life to always carry a pencil.

Why should that hinder their education? When I can provide them with a pencil, it not always gives them a tool for learning, but it also shows that I care about them and their ability to access their education.

The speakers will help my classroom come to life for the students. They can be engulfed in the world around them and be motivated to learn about how history can impact their current life. The paper will assist me in ensuring that students and their parents are constantly updated on their grades/progress, getting appropriate reflections instead of negative consequences, and providing them with an alternative resource for learning.
