Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and enthusiastic third graders. At the end of the school year I would like to have all scholars meet or exceed grade standards. With this goal in mind I would like to give them the supplies they need to support them on a daily basis.

My third graders are energetic seven and eight year olds.

They have acquired an appetite for learning and divergent thinking. Despite the fact that our school is located in a community that is within the lower socioeconomic echelon, our students have shown the propensity to excel academically. They are lovers of reading, without exception! Our school can be described metaphorically as the rich soil that nurtures each student to blossom. As stated in our vision each student will read, write and compute at or above grade level.

My Project

The students will use the pencils requested to complete daily tasks in all subjects. The math manipulatives will aid small group instruction in a few months when we begin to study fractions. The bulletin board fadeless paper and the bulletin board borders will be used to encourage students' effort.

One of the daily challenges students face is the lack of simple tools for success such as pencils.

On many occasions students are unable to acquire pencils for school. The pencils requested will assist students to be prepared for school each day. The bulletin board fadeless paper and borders will provide some panache to the classroom environment. The bulletin board accent will be used biweekly to display students' effort.
