My Project

My students are creative thinkers who use the design process to bring their ideas to life. In order to go from dream to reality - they need precision tools.

My students learn the basic principles of engineering through hands-on minds-on projects.

They learn the basics of the strengths of materials and civil engineering through designing, building, and testing bridges made from balsa wood. They explore the power of wind and electrical engineering by creating wind turbines from DC motors and recycled materials. Precision tools can help them to continue honing their design skills to bring the inventions of their imaginations to life! Our classroom currently shares one toolset with over 120 students. Not having enough tools impedes student progress and can limit creative thought. Providing more access to hand tools will enable each student group to create in parallel to bring their designs to life!

Ms. Zeno Young Womens College Preparatory Academy Grades 9-12
