My Students

My 2nd grade students are very eager to learn. My school is a Title I school where over 50% of the kids receive free or reduced price lunches. These kids come from very diverse homes and many of them are English language learners.

My students meet me each day with enthusiasm wanting to know what the school day holds for them.

They are always ready to learn new skills and concepts, explore through hands-on learning, and meet their full potential daily!

My Project

These books will help teach my students how to interact with their peers, understand how to regulate their emotions, and highlight that the differences among them are unique and should be celebrated. These social-emotional skills allow students to navigate social situations on their own.

Students will become well-rounded individuals if they are exposed to rigorous academics, as well as taught proper social-emotional skills.

Reading books, and engaging in fun activities, will provide my students with opportunities to become well-rounded individuals. These books discuss a variety of social-emotional skills in engaging, kid-friendly language. The uses for them are literally endless! Having these books for my students will allow me to not only support their academic intelligence, but their emotional intelligence as well.
