Tools for Our Social Emotional, Self-Paced Classroom

My Students

My students are primarily at-risk, low income, struggling readers. My school is a dropout prevention alternative school. Our students typically struggle with reading comprehension and motivation, so we work in small class settings to help give each student what they need.

My students come to our school because a traditional school hasn’t worked for them for one reason or another, and we have been working to implement a more student-centered, individualized learning experience for each student that enters our school.

My Project

At my alternative high school, we have decided to put a focus on executive functioning skills. These are real-world skills that any successful adult needs to have like managing emotions, planning, organizing, and setting goals. We offer a student-centered, self-paced curriculum where students can work on their lessons and assignments at their own pace.

The materials I'm requesting will help my students be their most successful selves this school year, and they will develop skills needed for life after high school.

I've asked for help in providing growth mindset workbooks, headphones, and other materials that will help my students work on the skills mentioned above. Thank you for your support!
