Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in Jewelry class work with various materials in creating both Fashion and High Fashion Jewelry. The students begin the semester by learning how to make a jump ring necklace. We begin with making jump rings with wire, then create combinations of chains, and finish with an s-hook clasp. They are all made by hand.
Currently the class has collected some basic pliers and cutters for students to share, but they are not enough for each student to have their own set.
My students would be thrilled to have a set of jewelry pliers of their own to work with, as they have been waiting for their turn to hold a wire cutter or a round nose plier. The materials that I'm requesting will help with making sure every student in class has a long-nose plier, wire cutter, and a round-nose plier.
