My Students

My students are kindergarteners at a Title I public school in Queens, New York. These students are primarily English Language Learners (ELLs). Despite the language challenges they and their families face at this time, they are enthusiastic and excited about remotely "coming" to school each day.

Each day, my students are actively engaged in distance learning.

My students and I participate in live meetings every day, which enables us to remain connected by hearing and "seeing" one another. Additionally, my students have the opportunity to learn by watching recorded lessons I have made to teach new material as well as review what has been previously taught. I am delighted by their level of engagement and participation. Their hope and my goal is the same. It is for each child to continue be able to learn even though we are not in our school building.

My Project

Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning since they are not able to leave their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My students need dice and cards to play math games with their families, dry erase boards to practice writing numbers, letters, and words, and notebooks to draw and write amazing books.

These materials will provide hands-on learning that cannot occur otherwise.

My students need these "tools" for right now and to use during the summer months. Once received, these materials will be mailed directly to each of my students' homes.
