Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 7th and 8th grade students will require the necessary art supplies in order to create the multiple mapping projects planned for the year. I am expecting most of my students will not be able to access these resources and tools due to their current financial situations. The maps I am planning include North American tribes by region, American Expansion, and Cold War Mapping.

As a former high school teacher, I realized how my passion for art has supported my students in truly engaging in history.

We see many students become disconnected with just plain, boring history. In my classes, the art element has fostered historical knowledge and awareness thus paving the way for well-informed citizens.
