This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In today’s world, financial literacy is as crucial as traditional math skills. Both subjects are deeply interconnected, and it’s essential for students to understand not only algebraic equations but also how to apply these skills to real-life financial decisions. To provide my students, including those who are English Language Learners (ELLs), with an engaging, comprehensive learning experience, I am seeking a whiteboard and Samsung tablet for my classroom.

The whiteboard will allow us to break down complex math concepts and financial strategies visually, making it easier for all students, especially ELLs, to follow along through step-by-step demonstrations.

Visual learning helps overcome language barriers, enabling these students to grasp core concepts without relying solely on text.

Meanwhile, the Samsung tablet will support personalized learning through access to apps and digital tools available in multiple languages. ELL students will be able to explore financial literacy concepts, such as budgeting or calculating interest, in their native language, while simultaneously developing their math and English skills. The tablet will also provide interactive opportunities to use translation tools, making complex terms more accessible and fostering a deeper understanding of both math and financial literacy in a way that caters to their unique language needs.

By using these resources, my goal is to ensure that all students, regardless of their language background, are equipped with the skills they need for both their immediate studies and future financial well-being.
