My Students

My students are a large group of curious readers from Brooklyn, NY. These eighth-grade students love to debate and make connections between what they read and what they learn in other subjects. In addition, they are also always making connections to the real world. Many of my students do not have the resources or the support at home to purchase their own copies of books, so I am constantly searching for ways to put books in their hands, even if it means buying them the books myself.

My Project

My students have been working diligently on creating multi-faceted projects related to their independent and classroom reading. Many students have created PowerPoints, essays, maps, drawings, journals and monologues. Unfortunately, the majority of my students can not afford printing supplies. I am in desperate need of toner cartridges for our classroom printer, which will allow students to print and display their marvelous work!

While this might not seem like the most exciting project in the "DonorsChoose" world, it will definitely have an incredible and lasting impact on my very enthusiastic young readers.

They are so proud of what they have accomplished and are anxious to display and share their work.
