Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are thirteen and fourteen years old; this in itself illustrates their struggle. On top of being confused about who they are, what they want, and/or how to stay under the radar, without being completely ignored, my students are faced with many adverse situations daily. Despite all of this, my students come to school every day to learn and do so with a positive and upbeat attitude. My students crave an environment where they’re free to explore and be imaginative, but also one that challenges them to soar to great heights. Unfortunately, resources are limited and funds are restricted. In a world filled with technology and innovation, my students need to be able to learn how to utilize these advancements so that when they enter their future careers, they can compete with those who may have had exposure to such devices. My students work hard and are at a point in their lives where they will soon go to high school; where they will either sink or swim. For them to be able to swim, they need to be taught how.

My Project

With the extra cartridges of toner, my students will be able to print out their assignments, for free! My students want to type their assignments because it makes them “feel like an adult.” The only problem is that we have run out of ink. Before school each morning, my classroom is overflowing with kids trying to print out their work but they haven’t been able to because we have run out of ink. What we are asking for are a few more cartridges of toner to refill our printer with so they can continue on their road to success!
