This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fourth-grade Gifted and Talented students research inventors and innovators whose ideas have changed our societies and shaped the course of history. Ultimately, they are tasked with identifying everyday problems that we face in order to try to come up with potential solutions. They are excitedly discussing everything from better home insulation to keeping track of the TV remote control. My goal is to provide them with a mix of practical material science and applied construction tools, so they will be able to better understand and construct a prototype of their invention or innovation.

Your donation for a constructor system, density cubes, and a book of cardboard creation ideas will help the kinesthetic learner shine in the classroom, generate excitement and investment in their learning, and empower the most creative of our up-and-coming generation to build real solutions to the problems of the future.

These tools will give my students the opportunity to bring their ideas to life, while the specimen sets will help them better understand the properties of the materials that would go into their prototypes. Giving their inventions a 3D form will allow them to show their community what they have created with confidence, as the final stage of their project will be to present their findings to their peers and parents. Every great business needs capital and funds to back it; every great idea needs the tools to experiment and prototype!
