This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in Richmond,Va. where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
In my class I serve students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities. The typical student in my class reads at a third grade level and many struggle with basic phonics and number sense.
My Project
Having the set of Chromebooks will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom.
Technology in the classroom is the best learning tool.
With classroom technology education can get more students engaged, improve collaboration, and most importantly make learning fun!
Video streaming can really help create a clearer and more complete picture for students. Pod-casting make a great tool for studying. Video conferencing, and virtual touring can allow students to travel the world from their classroom. Last but not least Collaborative exercises allow students to get together in groups. Utilizing technology in the classroom is a great way to bring your class to life.
