Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school come from very diverse backgrounds, including immigrant families and students in temporary housing. Residing mostly in Elmhurst and Corona, they have been deeply impacted by the Covid19 pandemic. Our hardworking students have done a remarkable job transitioning to remote learning but that has not been without challenges. In many cases, our students and their families have endured financial and emotional hardships.

My Project

Our students and their families are in need of our help. During this difficult time, they have had to overcome many obstacles. Some simply do not have the bare essentials such as food and supplies. While community resources are doing everything they can to assist, they are stretched beyond capacity and needs in this area are just too great. Please help us to support them and ease the burden so that they don't have to worry about their basic needs and continue to learn. Our students and their families deserve that.
