Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students from The Bronx are part of a NEST program. This program is helping to create inclusive classrooms for the students on the spectrum.

My students are all unique and they all have different ways of learning.

We incorporated a lot of different learning strategies in a therapeutic environment. My kids always come ready to learn new things and ready to explore on their own. Things that I love about my class is that we celebrated our differences and support each other.

My Project

Inclusion is the best way to go! In an inclusion classroom, general and special education students are combined in the same classroom. Students with Autism in these classrooms may struggle with social interactions, sensory issues or behavioral challenges. In my classroom, I want to accommodate all my kids needs so they can be successful. A way of supporting them is by providing accommodations such as fidget spinners and light covers to reduce anxiety. They will also benefit from flexible seating that's why I think it's important to have cushions. I am a strong believer that if a child doesn't learn the way we teach, teach the way a child can learn.
