This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an ICT classroom full of love, wonder, and excitement. The twenty-five children who occupy the seats of this classroom are enthusiastic and determined to achieve their goals each day. Whether it is to build friendships, learn to write, learn to read, etc. When the year began we were introduced to a new room, full of new faces. Now, we are much more comfortable in our new setting and making new friends. We begin and end each day as reflective learners who talk about our experiences and think of ways we can continue to be helpful to ourselves and one another. As a class of eager students, we are seeking the opportunity to enjoy the addition of an easel to the classroom. The easel will help us to create puppet shows, write messages, draw narratives, and push ourselves to develop our literacy skill set.

My Project

This double-sided easel will help us tremendously within the classroom. Our bustling Kindergarten classroom is full of on the move learners who don't have a moment to spare. Many students in our classroom are searching for a place to write and draw their ideas; yet, have nowhere to put them. We have been burning through paper and dulling our pencils. We are looking for something that will allow for more collaborative work to occur. The addition of an easel to the classroom will allow for students to gather around with their dry-erase markers and work together to write and share with each other. Students will work together to enjoy their learning experiences, without the disappointment of losing the opportunity to share their drawing and writing with their classmates.
