Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year will be my return to teaching after a 9-year hiatus with my 2 children. It will also be my first time teaching Middle School. I was drawn to this school because everyone says it is more than a school ... it’s a family. So to that end, I want to ensure that the 50 + students I’m about to inherit should have every opportunity for success and growth. I hope to create every opportunity to reach each child who walks through my door and instill in them a love and passion for learning.

My Project

These resources will help create a comfortable and inviting learning environment within the classroom and give students the opportunity to be informed about what’s going on in the world around them. The flex pillows are the first step in creating spaces within the classroom for students who want to do some quiet reading, or have difficulty sitting still at a desk. TIME for Kids will create an opportunity for kids to learn about worldwide topics, issues and areas of interest that they might not typically have exposure to. Finally, the laminator will help to preserve student work (for their benefit as well as mine)
