This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are eager to learn and easily motivated even though, many of them come from homes where there are little to no books in the home. They don't know that they like to read until the books are introduced to them and discussions are held about the stories. They don't know they like to read because they are not introduced to books at an early age. They don't see adults reading books at home. Once stories are read to the students and discussions are held about the (book(s), Their favorite line is "read it again".
My Project
The headphones will greatly make a difference in the students' learning because with headphones, the students will not get distracted by others while taking their (AR)comprehension tests.
The students will be taking AR tests throughout the school day.
Sometimes on the computers in the library, sometimes on the computers in the computer lab, sometimes in their classrooms on their chrome books.
Most young children will read their books as well as their tests orally, which makes it easier for them to comprehend and get a better understanding of the text. Therefore, if they are wearing headphones they would have a better probability of passing the test.
